Boosting Agricultural Sustainability: Chief Officer Provides Irrigation Support to Farmers in Kilifi County

For the past ten years, Kasena Changawa has been using buckets of water from the Kwa Pembe water pan in Vishakani to irrigate his tomato, okra, and kale farm.

To assist farmers like Kasena in enhancing their livelihoods, Chief Officer for Agriculture Teddy Yawa has supplied a water pump to farmers at Kwa Pembe water pan in Kaloleni ward.

The objective of the Crop Directorate is to promote year-round productivity in Kilifi County and decrease dependence on rain-fed agriculture by implementing irrigation methods.
